This website was created in 2004 once there was no
one place to find up-to-date information on Michael Praed's professional appearances and
activities or merchandise. You are presently visiting its fan club subdomain, Michael Praed's Fanfare, which became the
official fan club after Michael Praed sanctioned it in July of 2005.
MPNN or 'Michael Praed Network Newsletter'
This was Michael's former official fan club which suspended operations in 2003 when its founders became deeply involved in a fledgling business. Deciding that they didn't have the time to operate the fan club properly, Kate Raymond and Morn Geiger formally retired MPNN in 2005.
This is a great website for following British stage productions This site has industry news, reviews, archives, and booking resources, complete with venue seating charts. Handy site to follow Michael Praed's theatrical endeavors.
This is the official US website for 'Robin of Sherwood', utilizing the leadership talents of Christine Alexander and webmistress Tirza van Rijn. It features short bios on all the major cast members, contact information for fanzines and fan clubs, various collectable merchandise that were issued, series photographs, an episode guide, a timeline, 'RoS' con recaps, a list of locations filmed for the series, a listing of the contents of the infamous 'RoS' blooper tape, and series trivia. 'Spirit of Sherwood' conventions, called 'Weekend in Sherwood', are held at irregular intervals, offering the opportunity to meet stars of the show. It's a small convention, so guests get a lot of one-on-one time with the attendees. Michael Praed was a guest in 1997
Plan early! The next UK 'Robin of Sherwood' con is
'Nothing's Forgotten' in 2013 when fans will gather to celebrate the show's 30th anniversary. As one might expect, planning is in the early stages yet. Details relating to the
2013 con will be posted as they become available. Watch for updates on either their
My Space
page or the
Facebook page.
The organizers are Anna Georghallides (Celebphoto Studios/Vineyard Films & Entertainment Ltd.),
Gary and Pernille Rhodes, and Alison Bick.
'Legend'
was the name of the British convention for 'Robin of Sherwood', held
between 2004 - 2008. Like it's predecessor 'Silver Arrow', it offered a banquet
with a parody performed by The Offstage Theatre Group, discussions with the cast and crew, coach trips to locations important to the series, either in Robin Hood lore or for filming.
'Silver Arrow' is the name of
a long-running British convention for 'Robin of Sherwood'. First
held in 1997, the last 'Silver Arrow' convention held on the show's 20th anniversary in 2003.
It typically offered panels with cast and crew, a banquet with performances by people specializing in
medieval-inspired activities, coach trips to locations important to the series, either in Robin Hood lore or for filming. The last 'Silver Arrow' convention was well attended by members of the cast and production team. Michael Praed was extremely busy, but took time out of his demanding rehearsal schedule to spend a little time with his fans.
This is all that remains of SciFi.com's website devoted to 'SAJV', which is fine since it is probably the best part of it. All of the major cast members joined in posting on the bboard and took part in chat, as did the show's creator. Michael Praed read the forum very thoroughly and posted to the board. He also joined a chat. Excerpts of the chats are available on the other 'SAJV' sites.
A hilarious, well-written episode guide with lots of photos is the star of this website. Also features introductions to the characters, the concept behind the series including information from it's creator Gavin Scott, chat reports, and a multimedia archive. Again, some broken links here, but fantastic material.

When it comes to loyalty, Japanese artist Atsuko O'gawa must reign supreme over anyone except Michael Praed's immediate family. Atsuko has been known to travel half-way around the world in order to see Michael for a few hours in a play or convention before boarding a jet for the long flight home. Detailed pen and ink drawings by Atsuko are collectors' items. Her website is written in Japanese, but is worth the trip simply for the photographs.

This is a wonderful, imaginative, humorous website created by Danaan (Loralee Thompson) who unexpectedly passed away in 2003. It features many photographs of Michael Praed, most featuring the chest hair mentioned in the title of the site. Loralee and friends also collected a number of audio sound files of Michael Praed. Recordings come from television shows, audio internet chats, and movies. One bonus is a recording of Michael Praed singing 'Love Changes Everything' from 'Aspects of Love'. Four screensavers are offered, tying photographs of the actor/musician with his own songs. The material was taken from Michael Praed's privately released album 'For My Friends'.
This is another site set up by Danaan (Loralee Thompson) for the posting of fanfic (fan fiction) based on characters played by Michael Praed. Subject and treatment vary, but most are very enjoyable. Take a look.

Although Irina's lovely
'Robin of Sherwood' site (with this sizable Michael Praed section) is extremely
slow for people who use a dial-up connection, her high resolution animations and graphics
make it worth the wait. She has a number of gorgeous photographs, wallpapers, screensavers
and sound bytes. And yes, although most of it is written in Russian,
it is easy to follow.

The "Roman Mysteries" are a popular sequence of stories written for youngsters by marvelous tale-spinner Caroline Lawrence. With degrees in classical art, archaeology, Hebrew and Jewish languages, Lawrence taught Latin, French and art at a small London primary school before writing 'The Thieves of Ostia' in 2000. It was the first in a series of children's adventure stories set in Ancient Rome. The Roman Mysteries combine Caroline's love of art history, ancient languages and travel and she has a true talent for sharing her enthusiasm. Michael Praed was chosen to narrate the audiobooks in England.
In the first half of 2008
Michael Praed portrayed Milo to Simon MacCorkindale's Andrew in the
Bill Kenwright UK tour of 'Sleuth'. Simon's name should sound

in the casts of 'Falcon Crest', 'Manimal', 'Death on the Nile', and 'I, Claudius'.

After appearing in five Tony Award-winning Broadway shows in her native America Leigh moved to London. She won critical acclaim playing the role of Elaine in "Seven Year Itch", Velma Kelly in "Chicago",
and the ravishing Ulla in the award-winning West End production of "The Producers". Zimmerman has twice appeared with Michael Praed. Their first collaboration was on Susan Stroman's innovative "Contact" where Praed had the unusual experience of dancing for a long segment of the piece. There was an obvious chemistry between the two, and they were paired again later in Carl Djerassi's
"Three on a Couch", memorable for a sizzling scene with a mango.
US musical star Chuck Wagner ("Into the Woods","Disney's Beauty and the Beast","Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", "Les Miserables", etc) shared the stage with Michael Praed in the ill-fated revival of Ziegfeld's "The Three Musketeers" on Broadway. He played Athos to Praed's D'Artagnon. Wagner's website features "The Three Musketeers" photographs and a download of one of the songs, 'All for One'.
Misty is the prolific fantasy

as "the spitting image of actor Michael Praed", hence
the link.
