Interview with Celeste Moore

What is your general background in art?

I have a education in applied art, specifically advertising layout and design.  I entered the field just before computers changed the landscape forever.  Originally I worked in pencil, pen, markers, acrylics and watercolor as a form of self-expression.  These days, I also like using computers to create and manipulate images.  Many of the pieces here started as artwork for Fanfare's front page, or an illustration of some sort.

What drew you to Michael in the first place?

Various things, mostly Michael's convincing acting ability.

What quality or qualities does he convey?

Intensity.  Passion.  Devotion.  Tenderness.  Power.  Vigilance.  Fragility.  You name it and Michael can do it.

Have you used him more than once? If so, why? Were they representing different characters?

Yes, repeatedly because of Michael's ability to convey different personas.

I enjoy blending Michael's roles with their real-life inspirations.  'Sherwood Guardian' for example, is Michael as Robin Hood, overseeing a path in the real Sherwood Forest.  'Vlad and the Dracul Crest' shows Michael portraying Vlad Tepesh against a backdrop of Count Dracula's real birthplace in Transylvania, and the crest of Order of the Dragon, an order of crusading knights somewhat like the Templars which inspired the Dracula family name.

There are also certain expressions that remind me of various characters, so I've adapted those to portray Michael as those characters.  Rasputin is one of those.  His intense, mesmerizing eyes convince me he could inspire anything, including a bloody revolution.
